The Walking Jerk: Reviews & Ratings
First time there! The atmosphere was very bright and welcoming ! Daijah and Drew are super friendly and helped me decide from the long list of delicious food they offer I got the Chopped cheese + Tots and Omg don’t get me started on their yummy sweet potatoes SO GOOD! My partner couldn’t even tell it was vegan! Will be stopping by again very soon
Had the most amazing vegan food ever from The Walking Jerk. I can’t wait to try the entire menu. I barely pulled out of the parking lot before I dug in! Thank you so much for the experience. The service was amazing and food was beyond delicious.
OMG! Some of the best food I’ve ever had and the fact that it’s all vegan is even better! Mac and cheese was amazing and loved the jackfruit options too! It’s about time that more fantastic vegan food is offered! People there are incredibly passionate and sweet too! Loved it!
Wow!!! The food here is so amazing! I am SO glad I stopped. They are inside a large building called The Hub (parking is free). The tacos were super filling a delicious! I loved the cucumber lemonade. Lots of tables to sit and eat and a nice patio too. Met some nice people while I was there. What a great road trip stop!
I stopped in here for a meal to go as I was driving back to Milwaukee Airport to catch my flight home. I asked the owner's mom what would travel well and she advised me to get the Caribbean Jerk platter--which I did, along with a cucumber lemonade to enjoy during the drive. My food was still delicious even after I made it through my long drive and airport security--and way more satisfying than anything I would have found at the restaurants there! Great flavors, including the sides - I especially loved the cabbage and plantains. Hope to drop in next time I'm in WI.
The food was delicious. I was in Madison heading to the airport and was looking for a good vegan dinner before my flight. I happed upon The Walking Jerk and was not disappointed.
The Walking Jerk is one of the best eats in Madison across the board, and certainly some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Whether you’re normally a carnivore, omnivore, or an herbivore, the menu offers an array of options that will satisfy even the most die-hard non-vegans. My favorite item is anything with the jackfruit, and I’m so excited to keep working my way through everything on the menu because I have no doubt everything these chefs cook up is going to be stunning. What really made the meal exceptional was the creativity and depth of flavor. You can tell the chefs have put so much thought into each ingredient, balancing spices, textures, and tastes to create a memorable dining experience. All in all, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience vegan food that doesn’t just substitute ingredients, but creates an innovative culinary masterpiece. Highly recommended! (Pictured here is the jackfruit quesadillas, and next time I’ll take a nicer photo, I was just foaming at the mouth waiting to dig in)
Always hits the spot! Delicious vegan offerings with daily specials. Vegan steak tacos are perfectly spiced with several side options. Best to go with someone so you can try them all .
